There is a slang term you may be familiar with: “hangry”- a combination of “hungry” and “angry”.
While the term may seem funny, the actual biochemical scenario that is at play in our bodies is not. If you tend to get angry, confused, weak, or just feel off when you are hungry, you could have a blood sugar imbalance.
Without proper blood sugar regulation, research has shown long term negative consequences, including weight gain, metabolic syndrome, and even diabetes. You see, when you have a proper balance in blood sugars, your body is able to recognize excess sugars that you consume through your diet.
